SMCDS Member Symposium 2 - Buy 2-Evening Symposia Package & $ave $20!

The August 2017 Symposium sessions admirably demonstrated our ability to avail members of SMCDS talent without unfairly promoting one member over another.  To the contrary, having members present to their closest colleagues in a relatively intimate setting; i.e., SMCDS seminar room, gave attendees the sense of having acquired not only knowledge but a supportive resource if / when needed beyond the classroom.  Terrific CE, up close and personal.  We're doing it again August 2018.

Most dentists receive minimal oral surgery training in dental school.  All challenging procedures are referred to AEGD, GPR, and Oral Surgery residencies. Many dentists practice for years and are not comfortable with surgical exodontia.  Case selection and fundamental surgical principles can make the removal of impacted third molars safe and predictable. At the end of this lecture participants should be able to Assess panoramic x-rays for proper case selection Use appropriate surgical technique, instruments, materials, and medication Reduce complications including nerve injury, sinus opening, tooth displacement, infection, and root fracture Implement good procedure documentation including consent forms/informed consent, SOAP progress notes, and post-operative instructions.
